Continue to deepen your abdominal awareness and strengthen your core with the second abdominal series of three.  In this segment you will continue to work on hip differentiation and spinal stabilization by engaging the pelvic floor, Transversus Abdominus and Multifidus.  We will also be deepening the support of the Internal and External Obliques, as well as the Rectus Abdominus.  As these series progress and the work becomes more demanding, please remember to LISTEN to your body.  If you feel something is too challenging or does not feel right, stop and go back to the Beginner Series.  Also, feel free to drop me a line or post a comment with any questions you might have…

Practice, enjoy and look forward to the Advanced Series!

Please note:  If you are experiencing low back pain or have an acute injury, please consult with a doctor or physiotherapist prior to performing the sequence.  It may also help to go over some of this work with a private instructor.  If you have Osteopenia or Osteoporosis, please keep the head down, eliminating the chest lift and do not perform the roll down or roll up.  (You may also place a pillow or book under the head if the neck is tight and chin is higher than your nose while lying down.)
